To me, music education has always been more than just learning techniques or mastering a craft — it’s been a path to expanding the mind and deepening personal insight through the discipline of musical expression.
Among all forms of artistic expression, I find music to be one of the most intricate, demanding, and rewarding. Its unique blend of structure and emotion challenges both the intellect and the imagination.
Music has the power to elevate, inspire, and transform. It not only influences our thoughts and emotions, but also touches the most personal and often unexplored parts of who we are.
Through learning music, we gain more than an understanding of harmony and rhythm — we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves.
I give classical training and the best-practice fundamentals of technique, but I also love many diverse styles and genres of music, which I’ll be happy to teach as well if one wishes so — folk, Irish, klezmer, blues, tango, and more.
The material I use is based on my own personal selection from some of the best methods in the world—Suzuki, Soviet Russian, contemporary American, French and German schools.
I teach by playing from sheet music and notation, but also incorporate learning by ear, especially for those who’re more interested in folk styles.
I also teach music theory together with basic piano/keyboard skills.
