Years of Teaching

For me music education has always been more than just a musical training and a teaching of set of skills — it has been a means of elevating one's soul and mind through musical art and craft.

More than any other medium of artistic endeavor and expression, I find the art and craft of music making as the most challenging, complex, and profound to the human spirit.

Music truly has the capacity to uplift, nourish, and enlighten not only the state of the psyche, but also the inner world of an individual's spirit — his innermost sacred corners and depths of soul.

Through musical education one is able to understand music better, and thus understand himself better, the world around him, and the different facets and corners of the human spirit.

I give classical training and the best-practice fundamentals of technique, but I also love many diverse styles and genres of music, which I’ll be happy to teach as well if one wishes so — folk, Irish, klezmer, blues, tango, and more.

The material I use is based on my own personal selection from some of the best methods in the world—Suzuki, Soviet Russian, contemporary American, French and German schools.

I teach by playing from sheet music and notation, but also incorporate learning by ear, especially for those who’re more interested in folk styles.
I also teach music theory together with basic piano/keyboard skills.
